Sutton Skillet Chili
One-pan beef and bean chili — cheap, filling, and better the next day.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 is fine)
- 1 whole onion (diced)
- 2 clove garlic (minced)
- 2 can kidney or pinto beans (15 oz, drained)
- 1 can diced tomatoes (14–15 oz)
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup water or broth

Brown the beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up. Drain most of the fat if needed.

Add onion and cook until soft, about 4 minutes. Stir in garlic for 30 seconds.

Add beans, tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and water. Stir well.

Simmer uncovered 20–25 minutes, stirring now and then, until thick. Taste and adjust salt.

Serve with crackers, shredded cheese, or rice if you have them.
